Jerod Mayo changing Patriots’ joint practice approach to ‘limit fighting’ (report)

The New England Patriots are reportedly in talks to hold a joint practice at Gillette Stadium this summer.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports that Patriots coach Jerod Mayo has been in talks with the Philadelphia Eagles and coach Nick Sirianni to hold one joint practice during training camp this year. But there is a caveat.

The joint practice would only take place if the Patriots and Eagles play this preseason. The two teams have been common preseason opponents in recent years, with Reiss reporting a matchup is “likely.” However, the plan is contingent on the NFL’s scheduling.
